Exclamation New exhaust... I'm in heaven

Just had the Dinan exhaust installed, and man this car just keeps getting better!

Not loud at all, the tone is perfect through all gears. Lower tone at idle is to die for. Total V8 sound, that means business. Thanks to all who have recommended these puppies. I can't believe how much the stock exhausts weighed. I mean they were HEAVY. My M5 must of shed at least 60 Lbs.

With BMW being known for it's 50/50 weight distribution, I have a question for you all:

Has anyone noticed any compromise in the balance of the car with this modification?

I was wondering the EXACT same thing you were about the weight balance being thrown off with the lighter exhaust..but I think the difference between 60 pounds and 25 pounds is really not that much.

I didn't do an extensive test though..

And HELL YES...I love the sound/feel of the Dinan exhaust. Sounds so mean!

Never had a tubi. May have me confused with someone else.

Sorry, the population of M5 owners from Vancouver on this board has grown quite alot in the last month so I probably got confused!

P.S. I think that VanM has the tubi on his M5

Very cool, Lupo. I know I will be taking the plunge soon after reading posts such as yours

As far as weight distribution, I will probably use my set of scales to measure corner weights before and after installation just to try and quantify the changes.

Jet Black, you have gotten me and Lupo mixed up with the Tubi exhaust. I still have the exhaust sitting at home. I have 300kms to go before I break in the car and I will be installing it right after I get my 2000km oil change. I can't wait.

Lupo, glad you are enjoying your car. Isn't getting aftermarket mods so fun? It's like getting another new car again. Cheers.

Van,

Got that right. The suspension and short shifter alone really put the icing on the cake. It's amazing how resilient this car is.
