B10 4.6 (e34) performance

Hi guys!

Dyno'd my B10 4.6 1995 (e34) last Saturday.

I was pretty happy with the results

Max power was 257 KW (350 hp) / 5880 rpm and torque 501 Nm / 4126 rpm.

Factory claims were 340 hp and 480 Nm.

I don't know how accurate this measurement was but there was M5 3.8 just before me and it had 315 hp not 340 hp claimed.

The guy who was doing the testing said afterwards to me something about "quite tall gearing you have in your car". His computer was flashing red signal "maximum speed exceeded" or something like that. I don't remember exact words, because I almost soiled my pants when I saw that red sign starting to flash. He said his dyno can measure speeds only up to 280 km/h

Chart below. On the left "Teho" means power and on the right "Vääntö" means torque.

Cheers,
timipi

That is what the owner said. It was 1992 model.

Other interesting models measured same day:
M3 3.0 (e36) result 288 hp (286)
635Csi (e24) result 206 hp (208, Swiss model!)
318is (e30) result 144 hp with modified exhaust (136)
325 (e46) result 208 hp with GruppeM Air-intake and modified exhaust (192)
