Too right. Brunei and their royalty. Very interesting to just hear about the stories. You are spot on about RR and Bently and how the sultan kept them two afloat with his one offs and so on. But like the saying goes, what goes up must come down and quiet a number of these exotic cars have been sold due to the losses by amedeo and Jefri.

But we are not here to talk about that. Things that move with 4 wheels is what we want to know. So here is a link to catch a glimse of the kind of vehicle the sultan will commision for his use. Go to the link
http://www.oakfields.com/
and look at the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter AMG VIP meeting vehicle.

According to Autotrader it belonged to the sultan and is now up for sale. What a mouth watering description.

And just to list the Sultan's exotics, another autotrader news article covers some of the best.

His four door Ferrari's and unusual Bentley Off Roaders were the lowest point in a somewhat unusual garage. No Classic Cars as such, it just shows that money cannot buy class, never has, never will. The auditors are now selling off many of his cars and not all of them are in good order. Se hois Pininfarino Agento Vivo on www.classicscars.com, aggghhhh!

Thats how the royal family do it over there. If something is going to be comissioned, then it has to be done way over the top and with the best of everything. Even to the point of having a generator to run the AC in that van. I bet all these car companies love it when a call comes in from Brunei. It will be jackpot time again. Check out the RR all dressed up for the sultan's eldest son in it.

AMG must be happy too. I know they have done an AMG version of that classic gull-winged merc for the royal family. It was a one off. AMG engine, big wheels and some touches here and there.

What gets me is, why hasnt BMW got their Individual team to Brunei to introduce the royal family to what they can do. Maybe even offer the royals to make their own one of cars.

Anyway, here are two links for more pics to drool on.
http://www.supercars.net/gallery/129612/976/1.html
(note; I am not sure all the cars there belong to the sultan but quite a number are. The onces with the B registrations thats for real. Not necessarily the sultan's car cause his cars won't have a registration but it would belong to the house hold.)
I have seen the 4 door Aston myself on their roads being warmed up and run along brunei seafront road. At the time, I approached from behind in a M5 and was doing about 140mph when I spotted the car. Had to brake hard as I didn't want to pass it. Windows all blacked out so can't take the risk. Never know who is behind the wheels.

Suppose to be a few of his ferrari's.. http://www.geocities.com/sul288us/index.html

Impressed with his collection so far? I would and I would love to work at on of those garages. I am sure they need people to start up those cars and run it in from time to time.

cheers

Yup. What about this,.http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find...lCarID=1738335
Car looks like a lambo but with a ferrari engine? Man!!

But many of the older cars from the 60's, 70's and even early 80's ended up as junk. No one to look after them and since they bought two or three of the same car, then if one broke down, it was used as parts donor for the other ones. Check out attached. I am sure many are like this especially the RR and bentleys (old ones).

Its a pity cause I am sure if they were kept in good order, today it could be worth lots. Who knows, there might be a BMW 200Tii lurking somewhere in that collection just waiting to be brought back to life. Oh how I wish I could visit their garages.

cheers

Cizeta stands for Claudio Zampolli.
He lives here in Orange County US and he builds his cars
I've known him for a long time.
His cars have nothing to do with Ferrari.
He builds his own engines.

Thanks for the info. So perhaps the ferrari engine was wrong. Thats the thing about the sultan of brunei and his cars. Not many people are fortunate to know everything about his cars. Everything is locked up and away from prying eyes especially the locals.

Cheers

Yup could be bought for one of the family members. Wonder if car is in UK or not. I do know that all the first batch of M5 that arrived in Brunei way back in 1990 were taken up by royalty for family and friends. Family as in lower down the ranks. I got that info from the dealer who asked if we wanted to buy the remaining 3 units left. One was Sebring Grau, a white and blue. I believe I have a pic somewhere in my archive of the sebring unit. It had buffalo hide on the dash and full leather in the boot.

We didn't get it but later in 1992, we bought one of the last M5 units the dealer had. It was lying about for months cause no one wanted to buy it. Manual car and quite costly at the time for locals.

Anyway it will be interesting to know where the car you mentioned is and condition of it.

cheers
