Here are the tint codes and amounts, WB372/spezialschwarz 224.5, WB390/silber 270.6, WB394/silber fein 117.0, WB388/azurblau 146.3, WB356/scharlach 87.7, WB357/ozeanblau 87.7, WB355/violett 36.5 all total a cumulative mass of 970.3. Hi Apbails,
Thanks for your valuable information.
I will provide the paint code for my paint shop reference.
Hope I can make the right color same with alpina blue.

Just building on that - are we looking at the following?

1979-1985 Saphireblau Metallic BASF colorcode ??
1986-1994 Blau Metallic (also known as Dunkelsaphireblau Metallic?) BASF colorcode FE 86-5489
1995-1997 Alpinablau Metallic II BASF colorcode FE 95-5489 (is this also FQ 95-3965 )
1997-> Alpinablau Metallic III(?) BASF colorcode FE 97-5489
Just to update this thread with some more parameters.

With the assistance of Jud we've documented a big chunk of E34 B10 BiTurbos. All Alpinablau BiTurbos built between 1991-1994 are FE 86-5489, however a very early 1990 B10 BiTurbo is 95-5489. That kills the theory that the first number in the BASF code indicates the initial year of use...

That does and now makes sense. As my 1997 B3 3.2 ALPINA Blue II has a different shade to an 2002 B10 in ALPINA Blue II

1995 to 1997 could be for the E36, 1997 and onwards for the B10? It seems logical
