Anyone going to the Pistonheads Victoria Waters meet on 12th November?
I will probably go, either in the HSV or the Bi Turbo, depending on whether or not there will be an Alpina "group" going. I went last year and there were some amazing cars there.
sorry for being so ignorant, but is the HSV??.... just made a quick search on google and couldn't find any pics... what kind of car is it?
Cheers,

HSV are to Vauxhall as Alpina are to BMW or AMG to Mercedes, in that they produce high performance versions of their cars. (Yes, I know Alpina is a manufacturer in its own right but they are nevertheless based on BMWs)
The basic 2001 HSV GTS-R has a Callaway-tuned 5.7l V8 producing about 400bhp. There were ony 15 official UK imports. Mine (number 15) has been extensively reworked by the previous owner who added things like water injection, supercharger, forged pistons etc so that it now produces 586 bhp. It's a 4-door family car with a huge boot that destroys virtually everything else on the road.
On the track the only cars that came close to it were the 911 GT3s.

i aint even going to argue with that but to say it will eat tuned bts for breakfast you are talking crap, youve only just got a bt and you are still learning about them i know all about holdens and what they can do so dont get too excited, go and explore the world a little bit and learn about cars a little bit more before you tell me that a holden can eat TUNED BTS FOR BREAKFAST, how many highly tuned bts have you come across, let me tell you the answer 0, so when you go up against one with an australian vauxhall/opel you can be the first to tell me im wrong but until you dont know what a tuned bt can do then
Just for the record - it's not a Holden... It's an HSV. Holdens are Vauxhalls.
PS
there's no magic.. it all comes down to power-to-weight / torque-to-weight ratios, traction problems and driver ability. Assuming the driver isn't an idiot, and assuming traction is not a problem, the car with the best ratios will accelerate fastest (wind resistance only being an issue at higher speeds).
