Troubleshooting E60 B5 rear shelf rattle?

Well still love the performance of the B5 but has now developed a "taping rattle from the rear parcel shelf area, I think" (sounds a bit like a tea cup and saucer rattle). It seems after about 2 hours of testing with a friend to be something to do with the rear screen ventilation grid touching the rear window, but if someone sits in the rear behind the driver it stops. Anyone got any thoughts, taken the battery cover out of the boot checked the cables, taken the rear speaker grill off and the rear high light, tried the suspension and that seems fine so still come back to the rear grill, yet once the car is travelling at any speed over 20-30mph it goes away. Short of carrying a bag of cement don’t know what to do. Experience from over 20 sports cars tells me that most hard suspspension cars get rattles but was hoping the B5 would be a bit better considering ride a bit softer. I do spray all the door rubbers with silicon, last time I had this similar noise was on a Porsche 996 (turned out to be rear window seals). Top Speed so far 147mph (too easy).
