Oil quantity 3.3 engine

Two weeks ago I bought an Alpina B3 3.3 #041. Thursday I went to the local BMW dealer to chance the oil. Today I checked the oil level and it is 5mm above maximum. Monday I go back to remove the oil. On the invoice is 6 liters. Does someone know how much oil goes in the 3.3 liter engine?

According to my invoices, 6,5 litres in my B3S, which has the same block as the 3.3 engine. Should not be different.

Sherlock, you are right: no difference. The Alpina handbook for my B10 3.3 says that the oil capacity for the engine with filter is 6.5 litres.

Is there be a special Alpina handbook for the B3 3.3? I have only the standard BMW one.

Don't know, Heijkmann, but as there is one for the B10 I expect there is a similar document for the B3: the one I have is called the Supplementary Owner's Handbook, and it contains all the data which is specific to the Alpina.

Simon
