      Alpina Softline or Flatline wheels?

      Which one do you prefer?

I have 17" Softline wheels on my B8 Touring and 17" Flatline wheels on my B8 Coupe. I want to buy another set of wheels for the Coupe since I will use the current ones for track use only (maybe with slicks). After giving it a lot of thought I have decided to buy the Softline wheels for the Coupe as well since they look nicer in my humble opinion. I think they make the wheels look a little lower profile than the Flatline version does. And I have found them easier to clean than the Flatline wheels. (less edges etc.). An advantage of the Flatline wheels though is that they have the valve exposed so that it is easy to check tire pressure. On the Softline wheels the valve is hidden under the center cover.
The rear wheels also do look a little wider in the Flatline design but they aren't.

I know that Alpina now makes a few more variations, but I will only consider the two types that came originally on the B8.

I prefer the softlines. Makes the car look more modern and they look better too. But itīs a close call...

I prefer the Softline wheels MUCH more than the Flatline wheels, they are more elegant in my opinion. The Flatline wheels are very nice too...

BTW, Michael, doesnīt matter having Flatline or Softline wheels in your B8 coupe, it would look fantastic with both of them.

      Regards, Mikel.

Have you tried putting the softlines on the coupe to see what they would look like. I suppose it would change the look of the car, but ultimatley I think either would be good.

      Hi Andy,
I did put the two cars next to each other (front bumper to front bumper - made a nice photo!) and decided to get the Softline wheels for the Coupe as well. They just look nicer IMHO. The Flatline wheels will be used for track events from now on.
