Post Alpina wheels multi-spoke design or not ?

I would like to know what the Alpina owners/enthusiast think about the multi-spoke design?

It seems like those wheels design belongs on an Alpina, like the stripes. This is probably the easiest way to recognize an Alpina. There are different versions of the Alpina alloys but everyone has this multi-spoke design.

It is obvious that not everyone like them as I have seen ( in the net...) a bunch of genuine Alpinas without them.

Me-I like them I think that they belong on an Alpina but I wouldnīt mind if Alpina offered other wheels design.

Do you like them? Would you like that Alpina offered other wheels design as option or simply they must stay ?

I love these wheels. BMW have used nearly the same design for almost 25 years. Just look at the Radial-wheels.

I think they should retain the wheels as they are, it's their trademark. I like them, but I must admit the schnitzer wheels are nice as well.

Hi

I like also the AC Schnitzer wheels and the BBS wheels are also nice, but.......
You do NOT and I repet NOT replace the ALPINA wheels on an original ALPINA with ther wheels. To me that is almost a crime.....
it completly destroys the look of the car.
It is a major part of the car and needs to stay on, if not the car looks like any normal BMW with spoilers on it.

Hi to all,

And what about the badges and the steering-wheel ?

I have noticed that for example, in the newer Alpina models, the badges have a different text and are chromed. The same with the steering wheels, they look like standard Bmw wheel but hand-stitched.

Me, I love all those small diferences that make the Alpinas even more diferent than the Bmws. Itīs a pity the fact of not to find Alpina steering-wheels in the newer models. The new badges are OK in my opinion.

About Ac-Schnitzer, I also like most of their products but It seems like they donīt centre like Alpina in the engine, they do in the exterior look, suspensions....( their engines arenīt so powerful). My 535i Ac-Schnitzer E34 has all the sport equipment and also the 3.7 L engine kit that gives 262hp, not much if you compare with that time M3 E36 286hp, M5 or B10bt. Of course the B10 3.5 was 260hp or so.

MTY,

I think the newer smaller chromed trunklid badges are more elegant than the old style that e.g. I have on my cars.

But do keep an original Alpina original for christs sake...
So much thought and effort have gone into the design, engineering and craftsmanship of especially the older Alpinas that they are just perfect the way they are.

Michael

I agree with Erik
Keep the cars original, as soon as you remove and replace with a similar item, it spoils a perfect car.

The new badges, first introduced on the B12 5,7 E38 right??, it more subtle and elegant and fits the newer more luxurious Alpina-cars better but I still like the traditional badges more, like on the B8 4,6.

I agree about the steering-wheels. It would be nice with an Alpina-only wheel. I think the Momo-wheel from for example B10 BiTurbo looks stunning. But does somebody know how many "own" steering-wheels Alpina have designed? I think it is three, but Iīm not sure.

It is also the B6 3,5. Very nice one. Without airbag, that is the only downside.
