Alpina Stripes: Yes or No?

My E31 B12 5.7 originally had no stripes. A previous owner has put them on. See attached photos with and without. Before I acquired the car I was convinced that I would remove the stripes as I thought they looked bad. Now I have lived with the car I seem to have changed my mind but still uncertain. I would say I'm currently 50/50. I think the thing is that the stripes are great for Aplina aficianados like ourselves as we know the history and the meaning of the stripes. For the layperson in the street the car probably looks more classy without them.

So it's up to you guys to express your opinion (on my car only please, not generally) and give me some direction.

Alpina's just look so much more "right" with the stripes on, to my eyes at least.

Agree with all above
Stripes just set the car off as different, and different these cars are indeed!
Those silver strips seem to flow on your car beautifully and discreetly.

My B10 in black metallic has the full silver set - that sets the whole tone of the class package that is a proper Alpina with so many option boxes ticked by the generous original purchaser.
great car and makes no sense to sell it, find another - probably very difficult.

I am going through the same decision process on my 5.7 Coupe. I have the gold stripes on the spoiler, and am wondering which way to go on the sides - with or without.

While I'm not convinced stripes look better generally, there is no question in my mind that your car looks better with the stripes....
