Getting mad ! help needed please (E12 B7 Turbo)

Hello everyone, my car is leading me CRAZY.
Let me explain the problem : the kkk k27 turbo was dead.
I replaced it (go find another one...!?!),
but now i have another part which is dead (mine has a hole in it),
and i have no idea where to find such a thing.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated !
The car is a B7 Turbo (E12) with 300 hp (1980)
The part i need is between the wastegate and the exhaust.
It's an accordion like "tube" (must be a bit flexible).
I don't know how it's called (sorry for my poor english).
Any idea where to find this?
Is it the same as on BMW 745 Turbos or maybe as E28 models even if they don't share the same k27 model?
Also, do you know any good source for classic Alpina mechanical parts ???

Re: Getting mad ! help needed please (E12 B7 Turbo)

Okay here's a picture of the incriminated part!

It's the small square-like pipe between the wastegate valve (up/background) and the exhaust pipe (foreground)

Looking at the BMW ETK for the 745i, it is not the same part. The bypass pipe on the 745i appears to be a part of the exhaust pipe - in other words, it's all a single unit, welded together.

Looking at my 99th generation copy of the Alpina parts manual, it appears to be item #8 of the 11 62 Gruppe page. It is listed as a "Kompensator," and the Alpina part number is 11 62 628. There are also 3 Dichtung (gaskets) - one on each end of the Kompensator and one between the Bypassventil (Wastegate) and the exhaust manifold - with a part number of 18 10 661. It looks like the screws may be 11 62 011 (Stiftschraube M8x20), and the nuts may be 11 62 645 (auspuffmutter M8).

I can't help you with a source for the parts, but hopefully this is a good start. I would think that a competent exhaust shop could either fabricate one for you, or weld in a new flexi pipe. Good luck!

Re: Getting mad ! help needed please (E12 B7 Turbo)

Guess what, i called Alpina with the part number and they said "yes we have it" but when i explained it without the part #...."No !"

I'm very happy, FINALLY, my car will get its 300hp back :O)

Thanks a lot for looking at the parts manual !

Hey Ischia,
have you ever been at Emmenegger in Alpnach (near Lucerne)? He's a specialist for Turbo Alpinas (and E30 M3).

Found the part by Max Heiddegger, official Alpina dealer for Switzerland located in Liechtenstein. I couldn't speak German, and he cannot speak French or English so it was tough to deal with but i'm happy the part was available
