Can you mail me details?
The red B2.8 can be bought for about Ģ400-Ģ500 maybe less if you out a bit if pressure on the seller...It's way out beyond Maldon

he's a young guy who bought it a year ago and can't afford to run it (in truth i think the previous owner saw him coming).. but to say that the car has had a hard life is an understatement... 15!!! previous owners (plus the guy who's got it now)

the speedo reads 124K but the ad for the car from a previous seller in Total BMW Dec 2002 had the mileage at 180K so it's been clocked..(but that's not a massive problem at the end of the day if the engine goes pop it's a std 528 so it wouldn't cost much to replace)
It's had some major trauma at the front - either it's been in a bad bump or the car's a 'ringer' IMO. (more likely that it's the first option.
  • Basically the stripes are no longer gen ones.. (and silver not gold)
  • The steering wheel is an alpina one but it's knackered
  • The gear knob badge is cracked
  • The rear spoiler isn't a gen alpina one but you can tell that it's had the real one on at some point
  • The std cloth trim has had the front seats changed for recaro seats (with the drivers side door bolster thread bare)
  • The wheels need totally refurbing
  • It needs a battery and poss an altenator
  • It's had paint several times one of the doors (at least) has been replaced (as it's zinnober red in the inside)
  • The boot floor is full of holes at both sides where it meets the rear quarter panels
  • The rear panel is also full of holes
  • There's no front grill badge and the front spoiler is cracked and chipped.
  • And there's rust on the doors and bottoms of the wings.
But the main concern is back under the hood again.. the tops of the wings have had a real bodged welding job which has either accidentally or deliberately removed the chassis number - also the vin plate is with the car (but not fitted to it...)

the dash has the correct 5/275 plaque and a manual sunroof and rear elect windows as stated in the brooklands book.

Basically 'If' it's the real car and i stress 'if' then it would be worth saving.. but it's not a job for the faint hearted and certainly not for someone like me who's already got a full on restoration project on the go...

If anyone does feel up to the task let me know as i've got the seller's contact details...

anyone brave enough??

I need to put some mileage on it cos I can't take it over 300 revs/90 mph til the 1200 mile mark. Mega frustrating!!
I tell you what though- I've owned an E34 M5, and a 2002 year 330ci sport convertible. The new one attracts so much attention its outrageous!
I read about gaydon and it sounds good. If I can get down I will!
