Post Alpina B10 BiTurbo E-34 engine need spare parts

Hi,

This is letter from Iceland.
I am a auto mechanic and a friend of mine is owner of BMW Alpina B10 BiTurbo with Win no: WAPBATL001B750237. Car number 237 of 507 that was products. The car is model 1991 and is now nearly 200,000 km. He find out that the power was slowly getting smaller. So we thought it was time to look at the engine. But before that happened, the car was taken to one more spin and then he lost more power. I open the engine and fine out that two rocker arms are broken, so I took the head of the engine and find out that is very good shape. I send the cylinder head to special shop that will get it slightly shaved and the valve will get complete overhaul. But that is few things that is time to change out for new one.

That is:
Seals kpl.
Bearing standard size
Set of piston rings
Timing chain
Chain adjuster
Timing tensioned blade
Timing guide piece
Oil pump
Water pump
Rocker arm all
Adjusting roll
Camshaft
Turbo charger both
Clutch kpl.
Small water hose that is behind the head.
Out put shaft seal for the transmission.

Maybe it would be better to get pitchers of the engine to get the right things.
I also would like to get some information about the how much the head is tight down.

Can someone tell me where I could get spare parts for that car. I need to find out price and delivery time for that things.

One more question, the owner told me that on the internet, he have seen something about that some of the cars have bin change into 440 hp.
Is that something that I could do?
If so what should I do?

Thank you,
Halldor Johannsson
from Iceland

Have tried to remember where I saw the B10 Bi-Turbo parts list for download as this is really what he needs to order the bits from BMW.

Can anyone help Halldor?

Dave.

I´m mainly interested on that large power We´ve tuned a Biturbo to 400 HP and 600Nm but that´s all ´what you can get out of the small Garretts I think the engine can handle a lot more.

Perhaps PPHILPOT can tell me a little bit more about the Garrets and how and who I can upgrade them

Regards,
Dirk

Hi,

Thank you for all yours answers. I really mean that.

I download the spare part list and have now found
out what parts I needs. Thank you Victor.

I send one letter, one week ago, to
volkmar.steffan@hammer-mg.bmw-net.de
Wits is the Alpina dealer in Mönchengladbach,
But he has not answer me.

And I also send the same letter to
info@alpinabmw.co.uk
Wits is the Alpine dealer in Great Britain
But he haven't answer me.
In Iceland we only have BMW dealer and they
did not know if they could sell me spare parts for the car.

So now I know what I need to get the car back to normal
but I can not get the parts.

Can anyone tell me how I can find someone to sell me
spare parts for the car?

I am still interesting in changing the car to more horsepower.
I need to buy new turbo so why not buy some bigger?

Dirk what did you do to tuned the Alpina to 400 hp?

I am so new to the BMW world, I am fixing Porsche in my spare time
That are only 146 Porsche in Iceland so it is only spare time job for summer time. I use the extra spare time to make me web page for the Porsche club.

I am now working in my sons car Porsche 944 model 1986 (engine fail) and of cause Gunnars Alpina (another engine).

I have own two BMW, I have 732I model 1981, that was from 1984 to 1986 and then 318I model 1984 from 1986 to 1987. They was both very good.

Hope to hear form you soon.

Thank you,
Halldor
