Hi
Just got some info from a close friend of mine in Germany that told me that he heard about ALPINA working on the V12 but he could not confirm the Twin turbo solution.
I would not excpect ALPINA to confirm this on the phone, do you ?

lets hope it is true that would be some serious power and i think that would be the knock out punch for amg and porsche, come on alpina do it please do it. i would definateley buy that car if it was made whatever the cost then the plans for the ruf would be down the drain but who cares alpina is alpina the bloody best end of story.

This wasnīt on the phone.
What I was told was basically that there would be no reason because the V12 would be considerably heavier which would make the car handle worse than the B7 and also less fun to drive and the improvement in acceleration wuoldnīt be that great. And also considering that they plan to sell around 200 B7īs a year and with the new 5 and 6 coming I donīt think there will be much room for another version of the 7-series. Alpina is a small company with only around 150 employees.
But only time will tell what happens

You points make a lot of sence.
My friend does have very good connections and the last info he gave me was that BMW was working on a V10 for the new 5 series, when I posted that on the board long time ago no one belived it to be true
He was right then.
We will just have to wait and see, would be nice with a +600 Hp ALPINA right

Donīt you think +600HP is a little bit too less for an V12 Twinturbo engine from Alpina ? Actually we have 500HP from the V8 and the others big Firms that tune the V12 BMW have about 600HP without any Compressor or Turbo....so I belive if theyīll develop that engine we will see hopefully more then 700HP.
Letīs get clarified this first

Which tuning-firm offers 600 bhp for the BMW V12-engine with or without turbo etc? Iīve never heard of it, especially not with the new valvetronic-engine.

My personal opinion is that IF ALPINA does the Bi Turbo thing they will not take out much more than 600 Hp if that much at all.
I would be extremly supprised if ALPINA goes for 700 Hp in their cars.
This is ALPINA, they leave the crazy stuff to the tuners.
