End of Z8 roadster ?

Autocar 18 (30/4/2002) p. 16

Reports that BMW has decided to Axe the Z8 in June. (along with production of the M5 (although this will still be sold until May 2004 (in another article I read ?)

BMW's official reason is that there is no suitable engine after the 400bhp is stopped.

Looks like the Roadster will not be around for very long either....

The article also states that only 149 cars have been sold in the UK - and of that only 23 last year.
So the BMW car is almost as exclusive as the ALPINA.
