B8 Guru,

The white '02 looks like a genuine E20 turbo to me. Very interesting car.

Also a very nice E24/1 M635CSI. Beautifull. I also recognize an E34 ///M5 touring.

But that green E36 touring is very nice too.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

With best regards,

Raymond

What I forgot to mention was that this is an annual event. Beginning of May every year this meeting takes place. It is the biggest BMW meeting in Denmark with around 500 cars during the day and around 1000 people. Besides free beer and food, the dyno test was free for everyone as well. The meeting is open for everyone and I can only recommend everyone to go to this meeting. In the fall there wil be a smaller more exclusive meeting at the same place for BMW club members only (also foreign BMW club members).

Michael

Looking forward to seeing the videos once I get back to the office and my T1 line..

I was very impressed my the E36 bi Turbo setup, nice and clean. Though I so think they could have done a better job on the air intake system... What is that called HAIS? Hot Air Intake System?

Who is the manufacture of the system, and do you know the price / boost / compression ratio...?

Thanks
Carl

Carl,

Yes the E36 is a very clean turbo setup. The owner did all the work himself. stripped and rebuilt the engine, installed the turbos (Garrett T25), made the stainless steel plumbing, had the car stripped, repainted and then put back together. Price in parts was around $14000, boost is variable (HKS control system) and goes from 0.5 bar to 1.5 bar. He is still running in the car (it was done the night before the meeting) and when he is running max boost (1.55 bar or so) he should have 500-550PS out of the engine. The engine is built reliably as well with steel crankshaft (forged), strong connecting rods, strong head gasket etc. Engine management is stock Motronic with Active Autowerke chip. The car will no doubt benefit from a dyno assisted chip adjustment.
The air filter should have a cold air intake, I was also thinking of that. But I doubt it would matter a lot since the intercooler is larger than the radiator on the car
On a day with 15 degrees celsius outside we measured 'less than 20 degrees celsius' air intake temp. We didn't know the exact value since the instrument cuts off at 20 degrees C.
