First Alpina B3s saloon in UK

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to share my experiences with all of you. We ordered our car at Sytners Nottingham and decided that we'd like to opt for factory collection

We went on the 29th June and was met at the airport by Andreas from Alpina. Upon arriving at the factory we were introduced to the new B5s and had chance to speak to Chris and the guy's from Auto car. They were doing a photo shoot of the car before going off to Goodwood and i got to take some pictures of the car under the strict understanding that i did not post them onto the internet before 1st July. So that was pretty special.

We were then introduced to our car which was inside the showroom. We were suitably impressed to say the least !! and parked near our car was the GT3 B6s race car. Had to get some pictures of that too. The spec on our car is Alpina special design roundels, Alpina floor mats, Bi colour package, Alpina lettering embosed onto seat backs, Piano black interior, sliding front arm rest, Sun protection glass, High beam assist, Pdc front and rear, Split folding seats, Exterior folding mirrors, Dab radio, Loud speaker system and 19 inch dynamic wheels.

We had a factory tour looking at all sorts of preperation of cars. We couldn't believe how friendly everyone was and it was just like a family run buisiness. The factory is just within a small housing estate and everything seems so natural. We were took out to lunch and also got a plaque with a picture of us collecting our car, along with a case of wine and other item's.

Our joruney back was a 950 mile trip and enjoyed every mile without any problems. Only thing was removing all the road kill off the car. The car like our old M5 will be polished to an inch of it's life and garaged every night. She's not run in yet so can't rev it too much but can tell that the car has full potential and is as quick if not quicker than my old M5

We got a place on the Alpina stand at Gaydon and hope to meet fellow enthusiasts.

Stunning! Very nice write-up of your pick-up of the car as well.

Look forward to a back-to-back test with an E60 M5 and/or E90 M3!

Absolutely beautiful, and I especially like the bicolour steerignwheel, with contrasting stitching on that as well. Gorgeous.

Thank you for your report!

I have published this on the front page of mboard.com and also -since you are a former BMW M5 owner- I have copied this to the BWM M5 E60 forum as well.
