Alpina VS Brabus

Hello Everyone

I was just wondering how all the Alpina fans would compare Alpina against the latest that Brabus has to offer.

Their V12 engines with 750 PS and 1350 NMs of torque can give the big boys like Pagani and Koenigsegg a run for their money.

Will Alpina offer something that can compete with the Brabus monsters?

What are your thoughts?

From an european perspective, you cannot compare both brands. The business case is different. Alpina produces about 1000 affordable exclusive cars, of which 60% are diesel (D3 biturbo) , attractively priced at 35,000 €. Other models such as B3 , B5 and B6 are smart, exclusive alternatives to the respective BMW M models. In any case, the price range remains in the same brakets.

Brabus models, especially those equipped with the V12 biturbo, have a totally different price range (starting at 350,000 €) , more comparable to the supercars of this world. Problem is, a mercedes body will never look like a supercar...
In Europe, Brabus sales for these models are virtually zero, but they do a lot of advertising, hoping to sell aftermarket bits of pieces (body kits, exhausts,...)

Hope this helps.

The way to look at the most powerful Brabus cars...is that they are effectively one-offs that advertise the Brabus brand.

It is hard to compete against such brand as BRABUS is,, the biggest engine,, high quality all the way,, a cost that just a few people are able to pay,

they want to produce the biggest power toys available,, in the class ,, and you dont ask for a discount

So here is the Brabus: Pkw-Inserat: Detailansicht or Pkw-Inserat: Detailansicht
Alpina is for me a much prettier and more interesting ,has most of the spirit. My favorites are e38 B12 or f01 B7 BT.

brabus used to be the biggest butchers in the car market their work was so crap it was unbelievable, they have cleaned up their act now and yes they have fast cars and i rate them for that but as for quality even now they are not much better than they used to be so i would not put them anywhere near the league of alpina or amg

Well I agree that Brabus offers cars that are pretty much made for the Gulf money in this world, but in saying that
I have to say that since the late 90's Alpina has really changed, I am a bit disapointed that Alpina has given up on BMW's large V12
I still feel they should have suffed a V12 in the 6 and brought a car that i am very sure would have sold very very well dispite the world economic criss, and at least an Alpina 7er with a bored and stroked V12. It would have been nice to have seen those 2....

alpina is more of a coach builder than a high performance tuner (not so much as before *b10 BI-T E34*)
buying something like a B5/6/7 is for people that don't want some plain old 5/6/7-Series

brabus on the other hand does extreme package tunes like gpower only they deal with people that keep their ownerships off the internet
