I have an 84' 745 and I'm looking for some Alpina parts for the car. Where can I find them?

That is a gorgeous car,, 745 is one of my favorite BMW of all time ,, magnificent power delivery at that time ,, smoked almost all cars on the autobahn in the old days,,

1) why ALPINA parts,,

2) ALPINA E23 are extremly rare

3)what kinds of parts are you looking for

That is a STUNNING car!!!!

Never forget these cars and always have a soft spot for them.

I was 9 years old when I sat in my Uncles (God rest his soul) 730 and was blown away, from there I became the BMW addict I am now!!!

It was all down to that silver 7 series!!

I hope Andy G has a look at this he is a big fan and owns an Alpina B10 E23, maybe send him a private message.

But again as Sveinbjörn has said what Alpina parts are you after?

Cheers

I know how rare they are. less than 20 made, right?

I would like to replicate one.. at least the exterior. I like the steering wheel to much to change it. What are the differences between the regular executive 745 and the Alpina?

Here are a few more pics. I don't think the side skirts are stock, anyone know what they are from? I spoke to the gu who owned the car 10 years ago and he said I can't find these side skirts anymore.

Looks like I have the e24 Alpina side skirts already. Is the front a completely different bumper or is it just a splitter? Where can I find the wheels? I would love to take the wheels off the 7 and put them on the 5.

Ok the best person for you to talk to about this is Andy G, he has an E23 Alpina B10.

If you want to go for the Alpina look then you will need Alpina wheels and the front and rear spoilers.

From what I can recall the car also had a full Bilstein Alpina suspension set up but Andy knows best so will be able to help with that.

The original car came with the 16" Alpina wheels as fitted to the E24, E28 Alpina B9/B10's at the time. The original open type with black centres and no locking cap. These usually come up on Ebay in the UK and Germany regularly. But as your car is a 7 and quite big I think a set of later 17" as on the E34 Alpina B10 would look awesome. The 17" wheels are easier to find on Ebay as they come up regularly. But go for the 5 series versions as they are 8.5" and 9.5" as the E32 Sevens were 10" wide on the rear.

As for the front and rear spoilers, they were just a lip that went on the front of your car and was not a replacement bumper. They are very rare now as they were all made from fibre glass at the time and very expensive ( I have lost count of the number of Alpina spoilers I replaced back then, before Alpina started making them out of PU Rim). Again Andy G is your man for this and may be able to help. I dont think you need a rear spoiler and again they are very difficult to find. I have included the best picture I could find of a car with the spoiler on it, and a very poor photoshop of how your car would look with the later Alpina 17 Wheels as well.

Oh nearly for got if you go on the unofficial Alpina homepage you will find details and more pictures of the front lip, albeit on the earlier cars but looks similar, www.alpina-archive.com under the 7 series section.

Hope this helps

Regards

Thank you for that post Amjad. I just spent 1 hour surfing the Alpina site!! I guess I need to wait for Andy G to get in here to see what insight he has to offer.

I still don't know what the rear Alpina spoiler looks like, maybe Andy G can post some pictures when he sees this thread. I do want to find the front spoiler and some nice 17" wheels. The suspension on my car is new OEM so I don't know if I want to bother pulling that just yet.

Finally I found some pictures of the elusive e23 b10:

Looks like I already have the e23 alpina rear spoiler on my car. I still an unsure about my side skirts though. The picture I posted above is the only car I can find with the same skirts. All other e23/e24 Alpinas I find have different side skirts.
