Do you think Alpina will ever bring out a D7?

Guys seeing as the diesel 7 series accounts for over 70% of sales (esp in the UK), do you think they would ever bring out a D7?

Can you imagine what that would be like, say 400bhp version of the twin turbo diesel or even the rumoured tri turbo 3.0l, complete with all the goodies off of the B7 Twin Turbo? And les not forget the Torque...............

That would be awesome!!!!

Kees your the expert.....................

Considering that there is no 5-series diesel variant from Alpina right now I think it's not logical for a 7-series diesel variant to be introduced.

The niche for a D3 clearly exists - a sporty diesel with the smaller 4 cilinder block to assist agility. However what would the niche be for a 5-series or 7-series diesel variant?

A D5 will come for sure, as Alpina are now seeing what a D3 can do to the firm's well being, so I believe that a D7 will come. However, since it's a 7 series we're talking about I hope it has at least 350 BHP. That would actually be the D7 I'd want.

Keep in mind the E60 body is almost end of life. So it doesn't make sense for Alpina to come with an E60 D5.

The reason I ask is because at home in the UK BMW sell mostly 730d in the old 7 series and I am sure the same will be true for the current model, and will probably be the case in most of Europe.

The reason I ask, is because I know a guy in the UK who has a 730d with Alpina suspension, 21" wheels, and spoilers, complete with a 290bhp remap, the car's awesome.

So I was thinking with the success of the D3 in the UK why they hadnt thought of a D7 or D5. I am sure they would sell big time.
