For sale B8 Touring

For reluctant sale my B8 Touring number 21 of 27.

The car is in Cosmos Schwartz Metallic with no badging or stripes - very discreet. It was featured in BMW Car magazine, when I had it imported.

Interior is Black Buffalo Alpina striped and logo’d with BMW sport seats, heated and electric adjustment.

Electric sunroof, 6 cd changer in boot.

There is a full history with the car, BMW (Germany) until my ownership, I used a local high performance specialist for work other than oils and filter changes. Current mileage is 153,000km.

The car has just had (last month):
New brake discs front and rear (ATE)
New EBC "yellow stuff" brake pads front and rear
New rocker cover gaskets fitted
Rear suspension lower rose joints

It has Conti sportcontact 3's on the rear (fitted earlier this year)
The fronts are Michelin with plenty of tread left.

During my ownership (last 8 years) I have fitted a new clutch and Alpina dual mass flywheel. New water pump and radiator.

I still have the european headlights and orange indicator lenses too. A few (3 I think) spare wheels and it has also had the uprated anti roll bars fitted. I still have the original import papers etc.

The car is in good condition for its 12 years, but is not immaculate; it is my weekend driver, and it is still as much fun as ever!

I am looking for 15,000 euro's ono. Any questions please pm or mail me.

Regards

Paul

HI Frosty
good looking car and lots of options compared to mine. See how you go by advertising her but maybe consider if she sits there for a while another option? I've just sold my 944 Turbo cab via a dealer I know very well. I took a hit on it but despite it being a very good and low lier (70k for a 1993 car) couldn't sell it myself. I tried Pistonheads and Autotrader at £11k but little or no interest.

Then I tried James Paul (Google them) near me in Sussex, who I've known for over 12 years now. Deal was to sell on a slae or return basis at £12k and I got £9k (the A/C compressor, both rear tyres and other bits needed sorting which would have cost me £1k anyway). They sold it last week after 6 weeks by doing a trade-in with a guy who had seen it on Pistonheads but he had a car to sell. They know my B8 and as they specialise in BMW's anyway would be very keen to sell mine but I'm not ready to do that. I'd recomend talking to them if you get no results elsewhere. They could adverrtise it for say £18 to 19k euros with a warranty etc and take a trade-in and still give you what you need.

Another option is to take it to the next Goodwood Breakfast Club meet on Sunday Nov 1, which is themed for modified cars. I will be there for definite and it would be nice to see u there too. Let me know if you do. (my email is bernard.cashin@btopenworld.com) Good luck. Berni.

Cheers for the tip Berni,

I have so far resisted the pistonheads route as I don't want too many tyre kickers round!!

That said, I do have two interested parties from this site at present - and as you know the guys who frequent this site do know what they like and I would feel better knowing the car was going to a good home.

Believe me if I could justify getting a third car to the missus I would deffo be keeping the B8!

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul
I agree about the Pistonheads Tyre Kickers, particularly with a rare beast like yours a number of people will just be curious to see it. It would be great if one of the Forum memebers takes it on. If she goes abroad I would be interested in buying the plate, should you consider selling it. Regards Berni.

No longer for sale

I am pleased to say (for myself anyway) that the car is no longer for sale. A change of circumstances means that I can keep a car I love for even longer.

During the potential sale period it has focussed me on addressing the couple of niggles that needed attention and these are now done, also what would I have replaced it with, whatever, it would have been a step back in performance and likely a change of fuel type too!

Anyway, I can happily live on with a V8 matched to a great manual gearbox - not often you hear that!!

Thanks to all those who contacted me about the car and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed you - but hopefully when you get your own or experience driving one of these you will understand the wrench of sale!

Regards

Paul
