B7 Software Recall

At 23,000 miles brought my 2007 B7 in for an oil change. Dealer said there was a recall (07E-A04 Alpina B7 D) that required all the software to be wiped out and reloaded. Dealer did not know why the recall notice was made. The work order reads "Programmed and encoded DME". Took more than a day to get the work completed. The car runs the same as far as I can tell.

Anyone else had had the same work performed?
