Id love to see BMW build a stripped out 1 series with the M3s V8 in there- make it the 1 M (can't do "M1"). Im not sure the Alpina concept translates that well to the 1er but maybe...

I actual think a B1 would be okay. Although, coupe and convertible only.

With the Biturbo 3ltre already available in the 135, it wouldn't be that difficult.

However, the extra fixed costs (wheels, interior, final assembly at Alpina) would probably push the retail price beyond the segment limit.

Mind you, with Aston Martin knocking out a city car for £20K............... maybe....

Could also spread the development costs (suspension and aero) by creating the D1 biturbo.
