Here's one of them...I also have the chassisnumbers, colors and options of the other 4.

Well in that case, I take my words back

Did Sytner actually take the V12 engine apart and fitted the proper pistons, vales and cams or did they take a shortcut?

Sytner ordered complete components (engines, suspension, bodywork) from Alpina for installation.
But as mentioned the shortcut that Sytner started taking was selling 'incomplete conversions' (e.g. bodywork/suspension modifications only) and naming them B2.5, B2.8, B3.5, B5.0, etc.

I have pictures of a couple I have looked at in the past. One is particularly interesting... The other two are not.

Notice the interior and the bonnet in that first picture, and then the position of the steering wheel. Where is this car now?? (and why isn't it in my garage!!)

I understand that Sytner did the same work on their full conversions that Alpina did - they took the engines apart and fitted Mhale pistons etc.

Chas,

I think the 5.7 in your pic was one of the two ex-sultan of Brunei cars that Sytner had. It was for sale by Maxted Page AFAIK for a long time. Don't know where the car is now. I don't think Sytner did any 5.7 conversions?

An interesting tidbit of information: the RHD 5.7's did not have the exhaust headers from Alpina as it would not clear the steering column.

According to my information the engines for all Sytner cars were assembled in Buchloe and shipped as components to Sytner.
