I had my B8 out yesterday evening on 5km clear of autobahn , and had 292 kmh registered on my Tom-Tom .

Fastest I've ever driven , quite exhilerating .

Would love to meet a B10BT to see how they compare .
Next time Thomas ?? haha

Insanity! Where I live you’d never be able to do that, even if it was legal. You just can’t trust the people that are driving in the slow lane enough. Invariably, a sleepy-eyed farmer , without shoulder checking, ends up pulling out in front of you at a snails pace. You’d end up plowing into the back of his pickup at 200 km/h.

Two weeks ago I went for a little road-trip (2,000km); it’s amazing how good these cars are. Passing a couple of semi-trailers, a motor home or two and a couple of cars in a single shot is a breeze; into incoming traffic no less. A quick blip up to 190-200 km/h, out/back-in and it’s a done deal…no muss, no fuss. There’s safety in having access to plenty of torque.

Yeah I was quite proud of it myself , especially as it's done 235,000kms and on the original head-gaskets , and it's my everyday car , not just for w/e's .
And if I hadn't run out of road , I think there was still a bit more left in her .

I would never normally consider doing this sort of speed , but it was 2145pm on a de-restricted part of autobahn approx 5kms long , 28C with no wind , and absolutely no other traffic at all , perfectly clear . No dickheads to pull out in front of me , just the horizon . And I just got that itch you get to put the pedal to the metal and find out what she can really do when you have the perfect conditions .

Magic !!

wonderful....instant gas consumption: 50 Litre! (just joking!). B10BT dreaming: yes, not something that we can do in Canada....some roads could be great for it but the other drivers and big brother watching you would prevent it. Impressive stability also as the people are just talking casually while the speedo reach the limit. that is what Alpinas were built for!

Hi Kees ,

It's not smthg I'm gonna be doing every week !!

Up until now didn't really have the possibility to stretch her to the max . Had 240/250kmh a couple of times , and cruising at 200kmh is easy , but I'd heard they were good for more , so as I found myself with perfect conditions , I couldn't resist it .

What would you suggest is the max. long time cruising speed for mine now as you've seen it and know it , and max. for quick burts of speed ??

Chris

As i understand,,,

ALPINA said in the old days that high speed run on BT should just done occasinally ,, because of the tremendous heat that is coming from the turbos,,

this is one of the biggest problem with the BT,,, the heat
