Cracking noise near driver's window (E65 B7)?

Just within the last week whenI brake or go over a bump or accelerate rapidly I here a cracking noise sound around the roof line above the drivers window.Sometimes I can here it also above the passengers window. The funny thing is you do not hear it when you are driving.Only when you start or stop.It is crazy because this car was soundproof until this cracking.Any ideas what this could be or does anyone else have a similar situation? It is driving me crazy on what it could be.

I am really suprised I am the only one that has had this issue.Yesterday I lubricated the rubber seals around the drivers window and this morning I had no noise.Could this be the culprit or is it a tempoary fix.By the way my B7 is a 07.

creaking door rubbers and seals is common on all BMW's. Some 3 and 5 series owners have had seals replaced on warranty. The best fix is to lubricate the seals as you have done and be careful what valet product you use on them.

hope you are creak free and enjoying the car!

If you are unable to get hold of the gummi-flege, most swimming pool supply stores sell Jack's Formula 327 Multilube, made by Hayward in the USA. This is a silicone lubricant for seals, O-rings, gaskets and valves and will work well on creaking/cracking car door seals and stop them from freezing shut in below-freezing temperatures when you come out of the car-wash.
