Engine B11 240 ps vs 256 ps

I have a little question about the engine in my B11 ´87..

What is the difference between my 240 PS and the 254 PS engine in later cars..? The only difference I can find is a different Engine management! Is it only engine management or?

Can anyone enlighten me?

I think you'll find its a mixture of cam type and the management system, plus the lower output model was normally based on the earlier m30 engine, the higher output on the later m30 engine with slightly different engine cc size.
