I only noticed the squeek about a month ago - as the weather got warm enough that I have the windows down regularly. The noise was from outside, and was present when I depressed and often when I released the clutch pedal. Did not matter if I put it in gear or not. Did not seem to be getting worse. No drivability issues that I had noticed. I did, however, have clutch slippage when aggressively going from 2-3 and 3-4 that I had noticed back in December and that was still present, but not getting worse. I had just over 52k miles when it went in for service this week. Incidentally - I only mentioned the squeek as an aside along with a list of other things, and kind of blew it off as probably just a cable needing some WD40. I have no idea how they diagnosed it - I suppose that if I were footing the bill that I would have inquired further. I had actually been mentally preparing myself for ponying up the cash for an aftermarket alternative this fall/winter.
