The way I hear it from a friend who I think knows a lot- BMW locked in the design of the 7 and 6 before the 5. And we know they refined the design of the 5 several times (which is why it was delayed from the market by ~8 months).
I have mixed feelings on all their new cars. As a matter of fact, there is a good chance the M6 I was thinking about will not find its way into my garage.

this is another georgeous car from the pen of Henrik Fisker. And it seems AM is very serious about producing a world class vehicle from their hiring more engineers (some from BMW even) and building a new factory. I am very hopeful for the AMV8 and I have lost my excitement on the next generation M5 and M6. I dont think I am alone either.
