In so far as warranties for Mods - i spoke with a Dinan rep and then checked online to make sure he was not just spinning a yarn. Dinan offer a warranty on the parts that runs parallel with the BMW NEW CAR WARRANTY so if u buy the parts at time of purchase of the car u get the 4 years 50k miles of coverage. AS a MINIMUM Dinan will not let the coverage slip below 2 years unlimited miles. So for example if i buy my parts next year when the beast is 3 years old. I will have a warranty on the parts that will exceed the original BMW warranty. If i do extend the beasts warranty the coverage on the parts will not be extended. I will have a minimum 2 years of coverage regardless when i purchase the parts.

I never thought to ask about any type of refund. Good idea. the best part is that the coverage is transferable so should i ever be rid of the beast (NOOO) i can use the warranty as a nice golden carrot to dangle infront of the buyer

Your are right about the age and the condition of the car. True, chances are that i may never hit 100.00k miles but i would like the option to do so. I also understand your point about waiting until the minuet before i venture fourth to extend the warranty, however the longer i wait, the more miles i have and the older the car - the more expensive the package gets, not by much, but why waste the cash for no reason. I would prefer to get it out the way. But i will certainly look in to negioating when it comes to signing on the dotted line.

Thanks for the link - it doesnt quite mesh with my situation but the more info the better, again - u got it right about the longer u wait the more u will pay
