I hope this is not old news. In the August edition of Car and Driver magazine in the One Lap of America story, it is reported that in the Luxury Class a 2002 M5 won. It came in an impressive 11th overall, just behind a Diablo. In the same class, the Jaguar S Type R driven by magazine staff members, finished well behind the M5 in 27th place.

I think it's pretty impressive. Read the article, it's quite interesting. I think this is what some members have been referring to as the 2002 M5 winning the best car in the luxury class of Car and Driver magazine.
