Because the GT2 is more exclusive, comes with lighter weight composite body panels, deletes the AWD which is better for the track, comes with ceramic brakes standard, has the beautiful rollbar from the factory (at least according to your pics), and is more exclusive.

They say there will only be 175 coming to the US.

You can build up a 996 Turbo, but it will never be exclusive or hold its value like a GT2.

I would never pay $250K for one like these stealers are getting here, but it is a hell of a nice car.

Hmmmm... anyone know what the stateside pricing on the R Turbo is? Some say it is $300K, but who would pay that kind of money when a GT2 is CHEAPER???

For $250K, I think I'd rather pay a little more and get a used F40.
