I have the 9500i (I think that's the one before they added the computer download feature). It replaced my trusty V1 because I got tired of all the false alarms. After "teaching" my 9500i where all the false alarms are on my usual routes, it's blessed quiet unless there's that ominous Ka band alert. It also has a full dark mode so I can run audio alert at night (and in fact most of the time). Yes I could have turned off X and K band alerts and have quieted down my V1 but a lot of depts around here use K band so I either would have been blind to K or had to put up with the competing K band alarm alerts. Other than the lack of the directional arrows, I don't really miss my V1. The 9500i also has the same pin out on the phone plug, so there was no need to mess with my hard wired plug either. Literally plug and play swap.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."
