Each new M5 comes with two remote key fobs (whether or not comfort access) each has a metal key integrated into it which can be removed by pinching the finger skids on the end of the fob. You also get one thin black plastic key (called a wallet key) which looks like a traditional key, not a remote fob. The wallet key can unlock the doors but obviously cannot start the kar as there is not traditional key hole. Therefore, you also get an addition plastic "sleeve" that is the same size and shepe as the 2 remote fobs. The plastic key can be inserted into this sleeve and used to start the car (but it must be insereted in the dash even if you have comfort access).

As far as what anybody got when they purchased a used M5 . . . . I have no idea.
