I really depends on what what you want out of the car. I had E39 M5 with 996 and 997 and I really enjoyed driving M5 as a daily driver and P car for weekends. If you have a family, cannot go wrong with M5. Currently, I drive M6 and have 993 tt(Dyno at 520HP) for the weekend. As much as I love to drive 993 tt, I still prefer to drive m6 every day. It is much comfortable and pleasure to drive around the town and no one really bothers you. If I had to choose one car, it would be M5 or M6.
