I am using the BB 8300 as well. The first thing I did was set the BB to NOT sync contacts with the car. I have over 2000 contacts, and it would take too long. Secondly, I deleted the profile in
the phone AND the car whenever I needed to started over, as well as turning off the car, getting out, and locking it.(i know it sounds OCD, but I wanted to truly re-set the process).
I had problems in my 07 550i, where occasionally, even though the car and phone were paired, it would not see the phone. I am not having that issue in the M5 with the same phone.
When checking the BMW website, technically, the BB 8300 is not an approved device. My salesperson told me the same thing, and then proceeded to say it was ok. This is where I went.
