I seem to recall there being thread sealant on the plugs. Or maybe only the fill plug. Anyway, use a good 6 pt. socket on these the first time, not a 12 pt. or you may strip the flats. Also be sure the socket is on squarely. If you can't get it at the proper angle get the right length extension and a universal if you need to (I don't recall if I needed a universal or not).
