No need to redo the wiring, just to add bluetooth... You just need an adapter harness. Plus the only way to be sure is to get your option code list and determine what the option codes are. All BMWs from 03/02 (except X5 04/02) changed to the universal II phone wiring harness. You can verify this with the BMW WDS (Wiring Diagram DVD)

By the way, dealers are not the smartest on this kind of stuff... That has been proven time and time again
