from somebody that has built-up more high-performance cars than i care to remember
1. get a manual 5.0 - $2500-4000
2. upgrade suspension - $1000 tops
3. do 4.x gears - $400
4. run some nos - $500
5. install centerforce or ram clutch when you burn through the whatever is in the tranny - $500
6. get a 6 psi blower (used - $1500-2000)
7. blow the stock engine eventually
8. get forged pistons/crank/rods/whatever/lower compression - $2000
9. get a bigger blower (12+ psi used $2500)
10. put a cage - $500
11. get better wheels and tires if you care $1500
10. pound on ricers, vipers, whatever you can get your grabby hands on
total cost: 14900 worst case scenario for a car that runs 10s and pulls close to 1g on the skidpad. the best part is that it is not due upfront.
