Is it possible for DOT/EPA to deny a car for any reason? If there's no catch, are you interested in a partner in crime on your voyage next year, Parker? I'd be happy to pick up a 97 355 Berlinetta for $60k or so and drive the snot out of it.
No catch...just most people don't think about or want to go to Europe and buy a car. Contact JK Technologies at 410.366.6332 or David Castilow at 561.747.3311. They both do the DOT/EPA conversion work for euro cars imported in to the U.S.A. They will pick up the car at the U.S. port and do all the customs paperwork and then do the conversion to bring the car in compliance. You can also call Dick Meritt of the DOT at 202.366.5300. He can give you all the rules on bringing the car over. A lot of people are doing it. JK Tech is booked for weeks.
