In California there are reports of Z8s selling for over $500k USD. Yes- that is crazy but thats what I hear.

The market price right now for a Z8 in the USA is around 220k. Most US potential Z8 owners do not want a "grey market" car and thus not many euro Z8s appear to be coming over. BMW is doubling the the 01 allocation to the USA at the expense of other countries- perhaps its not just brisk US demand but also the somewhat luke warm reception in Europe for this. After all the car does have a bit of a retro- 60s American muscle car look to it.

I think if you approach the Z8 from the standpoint of a total performance track car it will disappoint you- and from the few European reports Ive read thats the way theyve gone. If you approach it from the standpoint of "is this thing fun to drive?" then you will be happy.
